Environment North is a Cairns-based environmental consulting practice that since 1990 has provided high quality, practical environmental planning and management advice on a wide range of projects from tourism developments to government infrastructure and regional planning.

Over that time, we have developed an extensive network of contacts across a wide range of industries and regulatory environmental agencies which has allowed us to provide timely and accurate advice on the application of environmental legislation and to produce quality planning and management inputs into a diverse set of projects. Our main areas of expertise through the years have involved performing environmental assessments and developing management regimes for diverse infrastructure development, tourism and recreation project, biodiversity conservation work, and regional planning.

We excel at developing real-world solutions to complex environmental issues where there is competition for limited natural resources.

New Arrangements from 1 July 2022

Since 1 July 2022, the company has reduced operations and Principal David Rivett has largely retired from active work. However, we continue to service selected clients in important resource and planning projects and may be available on a limited basis when high-level overviews or strategic advice inputs are needed.

We are no longer actively undertaking field assessments, environmental impact studies, and environmental management plans etc.
